Multi State Licensing

Get Your MLO License for Another State

One of the advantages to having a MLO license is the ease of becoming licensed in multiple states.  MLO licenses are issue by each state, but the education and testing required to obtain the license is managed by NMLS.  Once licensed in a state, it becomes a simple process to obtain a license in additional states.

The good news is... NO MORE TESTS!  That's right, once you have passed the National Component with Uniform State Test you will not have to take additional tests to obtain a license in another state.  For many states, you will need to complete additional education, which MortgageKnowledge.com does provide.

How much education you may ask.  Well, that depends on the state.  Right now, 15 states require specific state education ranging from 1 to 15 hours (see chart below).  Your personal Education Concierge can help you determine your specific state requirements.  On the downside 8 states require you to take the 20 Hour Pre-License education if a specific period of time has passed since you completed the pre-license course.  Again, this is where you would want to contact your Education Concierge for more information.

If you are uncertain of what licensing tests you've passed or when you actually completed your pre-license education, click here to learn how to obtain that information.
